A person with a gun tried to get past the security people near the hotel where the event was being held. The United States Secret Service and other security people moved fast to stop the person and get the U.S. President Donald Trump and other important officials to a safe place. The police said the person who tried to get in was caught and nobody was killed.
The White House Correspondents’ Dinner was being held at the Washington Hilton hotel. The person with the gun went to the security check outside the room where the dinner was being held. The person had than one gun and tried to get past the security people. When the security people saw the guns they started shooting. The alarm went off.
The Secret Service acted fast
The security people at the hotel were really quick. The police stopped the person with the gun quickly. The person with the gun did not get into the room where the dinner was being held. The police said they took the person with the gun down and put the person with the gun in handcuffs and everything was okay now. The police had the situation with the person, with the gun under control.
The Secret Service is in charge of keeping the president and other important officials safe. They had set up a lot of security checks. Screening areas around the hotel. When the person with the gun tried to get past one of these checks the security people acted fast to stop them.
