Tensions in the South China Sea are high again. The Philippines is saying that a Chinese research vessel was doing things it should not have been doing near the Reed Bank. The Reed Bank is an area with a lot of gas and the Philippines and China both want to be in charge of it. They are saying that the Xiang Yang Hong 33 vessel was doing research without getting permission from the government. This is against the law. The South China Sea is a deal for the Philippines and China because of the Reed Bank and the gas that is there.
