We are Quarlds (“Company,” “we,” “us,” “our”), an independent digital news platform registered and operating from Kathmandu, Nepal. We operate the website https://www.quarlds.com and any related products or services that link to these Terms (collectively, the “Services”).

Quarlds is an independent platform focused on global power, politics, and world affairs. Our work is driven by clarity, credibility, and independence — free from corporate or political influence.

1. Our Services

Quarlds is an online news and analysis platform covering geopolitics, international relations, war and conflict, and world affairs. The information published on the Services is provided for general informational and educational purposes only and does not constitute professional legal, financial, medical, or other specialist advice.

The Services are not tailored to comply with industry-specific regulations such as HIPAA or FISMA. You may not use the Services in any manner that would violate applicable law or regulation in your jurisdiction. Users who access the Services from outside Nepal do so on their own initiative and are solely responsible for compliance with their local laws.

The Services are intended for users who are at least 13 years of age. Users who are minors in their jurisdiction (generally under 18) must have the permission of, and be directly supervised by, a parent or legal guardian to use the Services.

2. Intellectual Property Rights

Our Intellectual Property

We are the owner or licensee of all intellectual property rights in our Services, including all source code, databases, functionality, software, website designs, audio, video, text, photographs, graphics, and logos (collectively, “Content”), as well as all trademarks, service marks, and trade names associated with Quarlds (“Marks”).

Our Content and Marks are protected under copyright, trademark, and related laws in Nepal and internationally. The Content and Marks are provided through the Services for your personal, non-commercial use only.

Your Use of Our Services

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access the Services and download or print portions of the Content for your personal, non-commercial use.

No part of the Services, Content, or Marks may be copied, reproduced, aggregated, republished, uploaded, posted, publicly displayed, encoded, translated, transmitted, distributed, sold, or otherwise exploited for any commercial purpose without our prior written permission. Any breach of these Intellectual Property provisions constitutes a material breach of these Terms and your right to use the Services will terminate immediately.

Your Submissions

By sending us any question, comment, suggestion, idea, feedback, or other information (“Submissions”), you assign to us all intellectual property rights in that Submission. You agree that we may own and use such Submissions for any lawful purpose without acknowledgment or compensation to you.

You are solely responsible for your Submissions and must ensure they are original, lawful, and do not violate third-party rights. You agree to reimburse us for any losses arising from your breach of this section or applicable law.

3. User Representations

By using the Services, you represent and warrant that:

• All registration information you submit is true, accurate, current, and complete, and you will keep it up to date;
• You have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms;
• You are not under the age of 13;
• If you are a minor in your jurisdiction, you have received parental or guardian permission to use the Services;
• You will not access the Services through automated or non-human means (bots, scripts, etc.) without our written permission;
• You will not use the Services for any illegal or unauthorised purpose; and
• Your use of the Services will not violate any applicable law or regulation.

If you provide false, inaccurate, or incomplete information, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and refuse all current or future access to the Services.

4. User Registration

You may be required to register to access certain features of the Services. You agree to keep your password confidential and accept responsibility for all activity under your account. We reserve the right to remove, reclaim, or change a username that we determine, in our sole discretion, is inappropriate, offensive, or otherwise objectionable.

5. Prohibited Activities

You may not access or use the Services for any purpose other than for which we make the Services available. As a user, you agree not to:

• Systematically retrieve data from the Services to build any collection, database, or directory without our written permission;
• Trick, defraud, or mislead us or other users, particularly to obtain sensitive account information;
• Circumvent or interfere with security features of the Services;
• Disparage, tarnish, or otherwise harm us or the Services;
• Use information obtained from the Services to harass, abuse, or harm another person;
• Make improper use of our support services or submit false reports of abuse;
• Use the Services in a manner inconsistent with applicable law or regulation;
• Engage in unauthorised framing of or linking to the Services;
• Upload or transmit viruses, Trojan horses, spam, or any material that interferes with the uninterrupted use of the Services;
• Engage in automated use of the Services, including data mining, scrapers, robots, or similar tools;
• Remove copyright or proprietary rights notices from any Content;
• Impersonate another user, person, or entity;
• Upload tracking mechanisms, spyware, pixels, or similar passive data-collection devices;
• Interfere with, disrupt, or create undue burden on the Services or connected networks;
• Harass, intimidate, or threaten our employees or agents;
• Attempt to bypass any access restrictions on the Services;
• Copy, adapt, decompile, disassemble, or reverse engineer any software forming part of the Services;
• Use or launch any automated system (spider, robot, offline reader) except as a result of standard search engine usage;
• Collect usernames or email addresses for the purpose of sending unsolicited email;
• Use the Services to compete with us or for any revenue-generating commercial enterprise not expressly authorised by us; or
• Use the Services to advertise or offer to sell goods and services without our express written consent.

6. User Generated Contributions & Comments

Quarlds provides a public comment facility on articles, allowing registered users to submit comments and responses to published content. By submitting a comment or any other user-generated content (“Contribution”), you grant us the rights described in Section 7 below.

You are solely responsible for any Contribution you submit. We do not endorse, verify, or guarantee the accuracy of user-submitted comments. We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to review, edit, or remove any Contribution at any time, in our sole discretion, without notice.

When submitting Contributions, you represent and warrant that:

• You own or have the necessary rights and licences to submit the Contribution;
• The Contribution does not infringe any third-party intellectual property right, privacy right, or other legal right;
• The Contribution does not contain unlawful, defamatory, hateful, obscene, harassing, or misleading content; and
• The Contribution complies with our Guidelines for Reviews & Comments set out in Section 8.

7. Contribution License

By submitting a Contribution (including comments), you grant Quarlds a perpetual, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, fully paid, assignable, and sublicensable right and licence to use, reproduce, modify, translate, distribute, display, and otherwise exploit that Contribution in connection with the Services and our business, in any media formats and through any media channels.

You retain ownership of your Contributions but waive any moral rights to the extent permitted by applicable law. We may access, store, and use any information and personal data you provide in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

By submitting suggestions or other feedback about the Services, you agree that we may use and share such feedback for any purpose without compensation to you.

8. Guidelines for Reviews & Comments

When posting comments or reviews on the Services, you agree to the following standards:

• You should have genuine, firsthand experience or knowledge relevant to the topic;
• Your comment must not contain offensive profanity, abusive, racist, hateful, or discriminatory language;
• Your comment must not contain discriminatory references based on religion, race, gender, national origin, age, marital status, sexual orientation, or disability;
• Your comment must not reference illegal activity or encourage others to engage in it;
• You must not post false or misleading statements;
• You must not organise campaigns to post coordinated reviews, whether positive or negative; and
• You must not make legal conclusions about the conduct of any person or entity.

We reserve the right to accept, reject, or remove any comment at our sole discretion. We assume no liability for any comment or for any claims, liabilities, or losses arising from user-submitted comments.

9. Advertisers & Third-Party Ad Networks

Quarlds displays advertisements served by third-party advertising networks, including Google AdSense. These third-party networks may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to serve targeted advertisements based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

We provide advertising space on the Services; we do not control the content, targeting, or data collection practices of third-party ad networks. Advertisers and ad networks operate under their own privacy policies and terms of service. Google’s advertising practices are governed by Google’s Privacy & Terms, available at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices or, for users in the European Economic Area, www.youronlinechoices.eu.

We have no responsibility for the content of advertisements displayed through third-party networks, and the appearance of an advertisement does not constitute our endorsement of the advertiser or their products or services.

10. Third-Party Services

Our Services use third-party tools and services to support their operation, including but not limited to:

• Google Analytics — for website traffic and audience analytics;
• Google AdSense — for displaying advertising;
• Google Search Console — for search performance monitoring;
• WordPress plugins — for site functionality, caching, and security;
• Social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, X/Twitter, Threads) — for content distribution and audience engagement.

These third-party services may collect data about your use of the Services independently, in accordance with their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the data practices of any third-party service provider. We encourage you to review the terms and privacy policies of these third parties.

11. Services Management

We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to:

• Monitor the Services for violations of these Terms;
• Take appropriate legal action against anyone who violates applicable law or these Terms, including reporting such conduct to law enforcement;
• Refuse, restrict access to, limit the availability of, or disable any Contribution or user account at our sole discretion;
• Remove from the Services any content that is excessive in size or burdensome to our systems; and
• Otherwise manage the Services in a manner designed to protect our rights, property, and the proper functioning of the platform.

The Services are hosted in Nepal. If you access the Services from a region with laws governing personal data collection, use, or disclosure that differ from Nepali law, your continued use constitutes your consent to have your data transferred to and processed in Nepal.

In accordance with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it promptly.

13. Term and Termination

These Terms remain in full force and effect while you use the Services. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion and without notice or liability, to deny access to the Services to any person for any reason, including for breach of these Terms.

We may terminate your use of the Services or delete your account and any content or information you have posted at any time, without warning, at our sole discretion.

If your account is terminated or suspended, you are prohibited from registering a new account under your name, a false name, or the name of any third party. We reserve the right to take appropriate legal action, including civil, criminal, and injunctive redress.

14. Modifications and Interruptions

We reserve the right to change, modify, or remove the contents of the Services at any time for any reason at our sole discretion, without notice. We have no obligation to update any information on the Services and will not be liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Services.

We cannot guarantee the Services will be available at all times. Hardware, software, or maintenance issues may result in interruptions, delays, or errors. We have no liability for any loss, damage, or inconvenience caused by your inability to access or use the Services during downtime or discontinuance.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the substantive laws of Nepal. Quarlds and you irrevocably consent that the courts of Nepal shall have exclusive jurisdiction to resolve any dispute arising in connection with these Terms, subject to the dispute resolution process set out below.

16. Dispute Resolution

Informal Negotiations

Before initiating any formal proceedings, the parties agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by written notice to the other party. The parties shall negotiate in good faith for a period of at least 30 days from the date of such notice before commencing formal dispute resolution.

Binding Arbitration

If informal negotiations fail to resolve a dispute, the dispute shall be referred to and finally resolved by binding arbitration administered by the Nepal Council of Arbitration (NEPCA) in accordance with its rules. The seat of arbitration shall be Kathmandu, Nepal. The language of proceedings shall be English or Nepali. The governing law shall be the substantive law of Nepal. The number of arbitrators shall be one (1).

Restrictions

All arbitration shall be conducted on an individual basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) no arbitration shall be joined with any other proceeding; (b) there is no right or authority to arbitrate on a class-action basis; and (c) no Dispute may be brought in a representative capacity on behalf of the general public or any other persons.

Exceptions

The following disputes are not subject to the above arbitration provisions and shall be decided by a court of competent jurisdiction in Nepal: (a) disputes seeking to enforce or protect intellectual property rights; (b) disputes arising from allegations of theft, piracy, invasion of privacy, or unauthorised use; and (c) any claim for injunctive relief.

17. Corrections

There may be information on the Services that contains typographical errors, inaccuracies, or omissions. We reserve the right to correct any errors and to update information at any time without prior notice. For our editorial corrections process, please refer to our Corrections Policy.

18. Disclaimer

The Services are provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis. Your use of the Services is at your sole risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We make no warranties or representations about the accuracy or completeness of our Content or the content of any linked websites. We accept no liability for: (1) errors, mistakes, or inaccuracies in content; (2) personal injury or property damage resulting from your use of the Services; (3) unauthorised access to our servers or your personal information; (4) interruptions or cessation of transmission to or from the Services; (5) bugs, viruses, or other harmful code transmitted through the Services; or (6) any loss or damage incurred as a result of using content posted on the Services.

We do not warrant, endorse, or assume responsibility for any product or service advertised or offered by a third party through the Services.

19. Limitations of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will Quarlds, its directors, employees, or agents be liable to you or any third party for any direct, indirect, consequential, exemplary, incidental, special, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost revenue, loss of data, or other damages — arising from your use of the Services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

20. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Quarlds and its officers, agents, partners, and employees from and against any loss, damage, liability, claim, or demand — including reasonable legal fees — made by any third party due to or arising out of:

• Your use of the Services;
• Your breach of these Terms;
• Any breach of your representations and warranties set out in these Terms;
• Your violation of any third-party right, including intellectual property rights; or
• Any harmful act you commit toward another user of the Services.

We reserve the right, at your expense, to assume exclusive control of any matter for which you are required to indemnify us, and you agree to cooperate with our defence of such claims.

21. User Data

We maintain certain data you transmit to the Services for the purpose of managing the Services and your use of them. While we perform routine backups, you are solely responsible for all data you transmit or that relates to any activity you have undertaken using the Services. We have no liability to you for any loss or corruption of such data, and you waive any right of action against us arising from such loss or corruption.

22. Electronic Communications, Transactions, and Signatures

Visiting the Services, sending us emails, and completing online forms constitute electronic communications. You consent to receive electronic communications from us and agree that all agreements, notices, disclosures, and other communications provided electronically satisfy any legal requirement that such communication be in writing.

You agree to the use of electronic signatures, contracts, and records, and to electronic delivery of notices, policies, and records of transactions initiated or completed via the Services.

23. Miscellaneous

These Terms and any policies or rules posted by us on the Services constitute the entire agreement between you and Quarlds with respect to your use of the Services. Our failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not operate as a waiver of such right or provision.

We may assign any or all of our rights and obligations to others at any time. We shall not be responsible or liable for any loss, damage, delay, or failure to act caused by any cause beyond our reasonable control. If any provision of these Terms is determined to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that provision is severable from these Terms and does not affect the validity of any remaining provisions.

There is no joint venture, partnership, employment, or agency relationship created between you and us as a result of these Terms or use of the Services. You agree that these Terms will not be construed against us by virtue of having drafted them. You waive any defences based on the electronic form of these Terms.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be indicated by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We recommend you review this page periodically.
