Israeli forces did a lot of raids and arrests in areas of occupied East Jerusalem. They targeted the towns of Al-Ram and the Qalandia refugee camp. Local people say this is part of an increase in military activity in the القدس area.
The Jerusalem Governorate said that Israeli troops went into neighborhoods late at night and early in the morning on Monday. They searched houses. Took some Palestinian residents away. The operations were mainly in Qalandia refugee camp and Al-Ram. These places have had a lot of problems because they are close to checkpoints and the separation barrier.
People who saw what happened said that Israeli troops with guns went through the narrow streets of the camp. They went into homes. Told people to come out for questioning. Some people were taken away including people who had been in prisons before. Some of the people who were taken away had their eyes covered, which is something that human rights groups do not like.
